Take a LOOK!

One of my favourite looks...

I love this look because...I don't actually know why. Mostly because it's not overpowering but still a bit glam. A nude eye, little blush and a trio of shimmery colours on the lid. I like to dress up my face most of the time I'm not going to lie.Whether it's just going out for cocktails or going to a nearby restaurant. It's either a smokey eye, a bright lip or the three hue hotty look for me. I say look how you want to look.

Help the Horses

An old tradition..

Horses are caused immense suffering and pain by the chuckwagon races that are ongoing in Canada.

54 horses have died in the past three years and many have been euthanized or left with broken limbs.

This is against the animal protection act that Alberta already has in place.

Help the horses by sending this petition at this link, it barely takes a minute:

I can't believe things like these happen with laws that strongly prohibit these acts. Laws are there for a reason and animal cruelty like this cannot be ignored. I would be ashamed to live in a place that this is considered acceptable. And shame on the people who give their money that fuels this sport. Shame on the justice system to brush this off. I know there are many sports like this that need to be stopped, but I won't stop signing petitions or doing my bit until all animal cruelty is abolished.

A few tips about MAC lipstick

My passion for a fuchsia lip...

MAC lipsticks are fantastic because they have so much pigment! And they have such a range that no girl can resist. These little lipsticks are quite thick so you can't apply it straight onto the lips unless you repeatedly blot. Many girls forget to blot, but this is what makes it look fabulous! It looks less thick, and it doesn't look like it's just been clarted on! I definitely advise using a brush to apply.

To make you lipstick last longer you can do a number of things. You can firstly prep the lips by exfoliating and moisturizing for a clean smooth base. Then you can pop on a lip primer or even concealer or a foundation. Adding this, will also make the colour of your lipstick stronger. Another option is to line the lips with your trusty lip liner, creating the shape you desire, and then apply the liner all over the lips. However if you use a primer of some kind, there is no need for this step.

Extra Steps

You can pop powder over your lipstick if you so wish. A light coloured powder in the centre of your lips will  accentuate the lip, making it appear fuller (no need for this step if you are applying a lip gloss). To make them look even fuller, you can apply a darker lip liner in the corners of the lips and blend it out. These techniques are used by makeup artists such as myself for that ultra glam look.

Hot pink lips! Really?

Yes really! It isn't a natural shade for the lips, that's a given. It demands attention and oozes playful femininity. That's why it's one of my favorites! It is natural however that animals such as bees or butterflies are attracted to strong vibrant colours, and so are we as human beings! Who isn't? We are attracted to paintings, flowers, food and fashion because of the gorgeous colour they possess. And by this logic I say hot pink lips are a definite yes!

So when it comes to MAC lippy... remember to blot!

My Secret

Chanel Vitalumiere...

Gorgeous consistency. This has to be one of the best foundations in the beauty industry.
It reflects the light like no other, and leaves the skin looking luscious, healthy and dewy. It may be slightly pricey, but for the finish it gives it's definitely worth the splurge.

I love this product because it doesn't look like you are wearing a foundation! Which is what you get with the cheaper priced products. It sinks into the skin, has great staying power, what more could you want?

Don't be afraid to..

Three Products I Just Couldn't Live Without!

1. Concealer.

I have an amazing concealer palette that hides all my imperfections and hides the discolouration under my eyes. Most of the time I just use concealer instead of foundation.

2. Mascara.

Mascara makes all the difference! It steals the show. It opens up the eyes, and grabs attention to the beautiful colour of your eye ( I could also use this as an eyeliner if i had a brush in the tube!).

3. Blush.

I need to add some drama to my cheeks! It gives the face colour it needs, and gives the face a feminine flirty look. I have to have my blusher on, whether it's a muted natural shade or a strong playful shade ( I could also  used a creme blush on the lips if I needed to!).

Bobbi Brown

Bobbi Brown

Classic Makeup for day to day wear...

Who doesn't love Bobbi Brown?! Only those who haven't discovered it yet. Bobbi is fabulous because it's simple and wearable for everyone! Especially for darker skins. It's the best brand for dark skins as it caters for extremely dark tones. It goes from 0-10 (10 being the darkest) and most women only buy an 8 at the most. There is one drawback... and this is that most of their foundations have a yellow undertone, so ladies with more of a pink undertone to their skin may not suit these products. Their foundations have different consistencies, but they all look flawless.

Their shades all look very natural so they don't look 'noticeable'. Their  products are multi award winning (Bobbi's gel liner is incredibly popular although Maybelline works just as well) and their brushes are great too. If you want reliable products that will make you look fresh and healthy without looking done up, Bobbi Brown is the brand for you.

Well done Bobbi.
